Ontario’s First Craft Brewer

In 1984, we were the first craft brewers in Ontario. With a dedication to precision, detail and pure ingredients, we were – and still are – making the kind of beer we’d choose to drink ourselves.

In 2023, Waterloo Brewing was acquired by Carlsberg Group. Under this new ownership, Waterloo Brewing remains dedicated to brewing great beer in the community that is our namesake.

We Brew Community

Waterloo Region is rich with culture, innovation and creativity. We strive to be recognized as both a leader and a participant in this vibrant community.

Land Acknowledgement

Waterloo Brewing recognizes that most of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples.

We recognize our responsibility to serve as stewards for the land and honour the original caretakers who came before us. Our community is enriched by the enduring knowledge and deep-rooted traditions of the diverse First Nations, Metis and Inuit in Kitchener, today. We recognize, honour and respect these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and water on which Waterloo Brewing is now present. We encourage all staff members and visitors to Waterloo Brewing to not only acknowledge the traditional territory on which Waterloo Brewing operates, but to also ground this acknowledgement with action and education as we work towards reconciliation as a country.
